SUMMER 2015 HPCC Newsletter (released 4/29/15)
May 27, 28, 2015 - SOFTWARE CARPENTRY WORKSHOP being offered at OSU from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. both days in 514 MSCS. A commitment to attend for the entire duration is required as our lessons build upon each other. This workshop will cover basic skills of the UNIX command line, Python programming and Git and Github. It is a full two-day workshop taught with a type-along approach where learners become more comfortable using their computers as a powerful research aid. You must provide your own laptop, and we'll make sure you leave with all the open source we use software installed on it. This workshop is being offered FREE due to the generous support of Oklahoma EPSCoR, OU Libraries and the OSU HPC Center. Any staff member, faculty member, post-doc, graduate student or undergraduate who would like to learn to use their computer more effectively as a research tool.
NOVEMBER 4, 2014 HPCC in coordination with OSCER team from OU provided training to those needing PetaStore.
SEPTEMBER 15, 16 & 22, 2014 Presented Linux/Cowboy Supercomputer training for OSU HPCC users on the Stillwater Campus of OSU.
SEPTEMBER 4, 2014 - Brian Cougar, a graduate student at Oklahoma State University, receives the prestigious Champion Fellows designation from XSEDE to allow him collaboration with scientific teams in genetic research. His work required the resources provided by OSU's supercomputer COWBOY to carry out his research. Read the whole story HERE.
